Yes, yes I am.
I’m just having one of those days. I don’t think I’ve ever been sexier. I am so damn sexy that even my grey hair is sexy. Sexier than sexy, even.
There’s sort of a weird thing involved here: I didn’t start off feeling sexy today. In fact, I was feeling pretty down and was upset with a crappy friend. But then I realized that “crappy” and “friend” are oxymorons, and everything started falling into place.
When I went to class, Dr Ted asked me what had gotten into me today. I told him I had lost my best friend, and just grinned. He’s known me long enough to expect weird answers from me. After all, he’s the one scarred me with the lesbian themes in Frankenstein.
The truth is, I didn’t lose a best friend. I just lost a habit. A 14 year long one. To celebrate, I’m throwing on some Koko Taylor, touching up my make-up, and taking two of the most supportive people in my life out to dinner to celebrate the loss of the least supportive person in my life. I really don’t know how my parents will be able to stand hanging out with someone as sexy as I am.
And, while plain text can never convey the power that *is* Koko Taylor, here is where I am, right here and right now.
Two excerpts from Koko’s “I’m a Woman” from her album, “Earthshaker”:
“I’m a woman, I’m a rushing wind, I’m a woman, I can cut stone with a pen. I’m a woman. I’m a love maker. I’m a woman. You know, I’m an Earthshaker.”
And:
“I’m goin’ down yonder,Behind the sun. Gonna do something for ya, That ain’t never been done. Gonna hold back the lightning. With the palm of my hand, Shake hands with the devil, Make him crawl in the sand…”
All is so very, very well in my world.
Oh, and for the record, my eyes are green around the iris, and blue around the green.

“. . .green around the iris, and blue around the green.”
